Sales Policy

Please understand that if you are thinking about adding a rabbit to your family, they require a lot of care and attention.  Bunnies can live 5 plus years and require a clean and safe environment to live in.  We like to be sure that our bunnies are sold to individuals that are committed to the care of their bunny for its life.

All of Barton's Big Bunnies sold will go home with a ziploc bag of food to transition smoothly to your food of choice & timothy hay stuffed in a toilet paper roll. Each rabbit will have a tattoo in their left ear. Pet quality rabbits will have a tattoo of their number with a heart around it (which will disqualify them on the show tables, this is the point of the heart, since they are pet quality & not meant for the show tables). All of our tattoos for English Lops will start with B3E and then will have a unique number to each rabbit. B3 stands for Barton's Big Bunnies, E stands for English Lop, & the number is how many we have raised in our rabbitry.

All show quality and brood quality rabbits will also go home with their 3-generation pedigree. Pet quality rabbits will not be sold with their pedigree.

  • The pedigree will have the name of the rabbit. The prefix will have Barton's Big Bunnies, which you are prohibited to change. The rest of the name that follows the prefix can be changed. But the rest of the pedigree must remain unchanged.

  • We do not sell any rabbits under 8 weeks old, most are sold between 3-5 months old.

  • We always have pick of the litter.

  • We reserve the right to cancel a sale at any time for any reason. If we cancel a sale, this is the only time we will offer a rabbit of equal quality or a refund for any payments that were previously made. The choice is ours.

  • At least a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold a rabbit. Once a rabbit is on hold the buyer has 7 days to pick up the rabbit unless other arrangements have been made with us. Otherwise the deposit will be lost & the rabbit will go back up for sale. We have limited space and therefore the reason for the rule.

  • All deposits can be made via cash, cashier's check, PayPal or money transfer (through Wal-Mart to Wal-Mart). If you pay with a cashier's check it must be cashed to give us cash in hand to show the check clears before we will let a rabbit leave our rabbitry with any buyer or transporter. We are planning to be able to take credit cards in the future. Unfortunately we do not accept personal checks, or money orders at this time.

  • Rabbits must be paid in full before it leaves our rabbitry. We only accept cash for the remaining amount at pick up.

  • Hold=50% non-refundable deposit has not been received but the rabbit is being held for up to 7 days while the deposit is made. If no deposit has been received within 7 days of a rabbit being placed on hold, that rabbit will then be listed as for sale again.

  • Pending=50% non-refundable deposit or full payment has been received and the buyer has 7 days (unless another day has been arranged with us) to pick up the rabbit. If the buyer does not pick up the rabbit on the agreed date/time then the rabbit will be listed as for sale again and the deposit will be lost.

  • Sold=full payment has been received & the rabbit has been picked up from the agreed location.

  • Prices for our rabbits vary based on type. Types are: Show Quality, Brood Quality, and Pet Quality. Each rabbits type is determined by the breed Standard of Perfection (SOP) for English Lops set by the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA). Show quality rabbits are free of disqualifications, that we know of, at the time of sale and are rabbits we would be willing to show or have shown. Brood quality rabbits also meet the SOP but have some kind of aesthetic disqualification making them unshowable or have retired from the show tables, but would fit into a breeding program. Pet quality rabbits do not meet the SOP and are not preferred for breeding since they will not improve the breed.

  • Due to the ever-changing growth and development of young kits, the price of a rabbit is subject to change at our discretion.

  • We cannot guarantee that any rabbit will be a winning show rabbit.  Show quality babies are judged to be so based upon their heritage, condition, and type at the time of sale.  Many things affect the growth and development of each rabbit and there is no way to guarantee that a baby will win on the show tables.

  • We do not guarantee the temperament, weight, coloring of the rabbit, or the quality of their offspring.  All these things will depend solely on the animal.

  • You may contact us to set up a time to see the rabbit(s) that you are interested in and purchase a rabbit at that time. This can occur at a show we are attending or a safe neutral location near us. Our rabbitry is located at our home, so for our safety we do not allow visitors. Pick up must be done in Tulsa, Ok or at any shows we are attending, unless otherwise arranged & agreed upon with us.

  • We urge buyers to evaluate the rabbits themselves at the time of pick up. We are not responsible for any disqualification that may appear after the time of the sale.

  • We do not ship rabbits at this time. If you have decided to use a transporter, we are not responsible for the rabbit once it leaves our care, since it is in the hands of the transporter you selected. And you will be responsible for the payment of the transport & any carriers or supplies needed to go with the rabbit, unless otherwise arranged with us or not required by the transporter. Also if you decide to use a transporter please note that we will only meet them during decent hours, as we have other jobs so we will have to meet around our work schedules. And we have the right to refuse to use a transporter, if we feel the rabbit(s) will not be cared for properly while being transported.

  • If a rabbit becomes ill or dies within 7 days of purchase, please contact us immediately (we would prefer to be contacted before a rabbit dies, so we can help advise you with possible life saving treatments).  We will not refund money or replace your rabbit without seeing the deceased rabbit and acquiring a diagnosis for the cause of death from a veterinarian. We are not responsible for any extra expenses from the vet, for medications, the cost of the necropsy, etc. Rabbits that become ill or dies due to neglect, inadequate care, heat or cold exposure, abuse, animal attack, improper diet, lack of water, over handling, etc. will NOT be refunded or replaced.

  • We are available to buyers to answer any questions. You can send a private message on our Facebook page Barton's Big Bunniese-mail, or text/call.

  • If you can no longer take care of your bunny that you purchased from us, we will take the bunny back (if cage space allows), but we are not required to give you any money back.

  • All proceeds from sales go back into our rabbitry to purchase feed, hay, supplies for our herd, and pays for shows. We do not make a profit off the sales of our rabbits.

  • We always want our bunnies to have a happy home where they are well taken care of, spoiled, and loved!

  • We love knowing how our rabbits are doing in their new homes and always welcome updates and photos. If you would like to send photos & updates please send them to either our Facebook page in a private message or e-mail us - Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to read our sales policy & having an interest in our English Lops.

*By reserving &/or purchasing any rabbits from our rabbitry, you are agreeing to our terms above.*
