Breeders of Barton's Big Bunnies

Hello, my name is Julee Barton & my husband is James Barton. We are the founders of Barton's Big Bunnies, a small home-based rabbitry in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our rabbits are spoiled in a climate controlled environment & have a large fenced area in our backyard for our rabbits to get out of their cage to run and play. We originally got into bunnies for meat to feed our reptiles in 2011. We started with New Zealands, mixes, & Flemish Giants. We loved them but I always had a love for the English Lops long ears. So shortly after starting rabbits we searched for some English Lops in our area. We found Hoppin' Heaven's Rabbitry and got our first trio of English Lops. And from that moment we had them home we were completely sold on their wonderful puppy like personalities. We started to slowly find more English Lops to add to our herd. Then we decided to check out some shows & loved it. We learned so much & met so many wonderful rabbit people at the shows we attended. After our oldest & last snake past we decided to get out of the meat rabbits & focus on our English Lops. We are working hard to breed happy, healthy, & nice show quality English Lops. We have had some very nice litters & are very hopeful for future litters. We attended and showed at our first Lop Nationals show in 2014 that was held in Hutchinson, KS. One of our home grown bucks, Barton's Big Bunnies Viper, won 1st out of 7 solid junior bucks. And one of our home grown does, Barton's Big Bunnies Lotus, placed 2nd out of 8 broken junior does. We sold one of our nice home grown does (B3E44) to a beginning breeder to help get her started in the right direction. She showed her at 7 months old and B3E44 won Best In Show. We were so excited & look forward to attending our first ARBA Convention! Please feel free to check out the pictures of our English Lops and our Sweepstake & Top Lop Points.

Our rabbitry is registered, the number is D4938. We are proud to be members of ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders of Association), LRCA (Lop Rabbit Club of America) & KSLRC (Kansas Lop Rabbit Club) since Oklahoma doesn't have a lop rabbit club & we show at many different Kansas shows. We show our rabbits in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missiouri, Texas, and Arkansas mostly but have shown as far as Illinois. We look forward to the other states that shows may take us to, and the people we will meet.

I have recently started a new hobby for me... I have started woodburning. I got into the woodburning hobby Christmas 2014. Feel free to check out my woodburning items on the Links page. I've made several logos for other rabbit breeders. Most have them hanging from their grooming tables at the shows so people will know who they are. If you are interested in getting anything woodburned please contact me & we can discuss the details. I'd be glad to woodburn something for you, it does not have to be rabbit related. So if there is anything you are interested in, please contact me.

We have also started a business in 2019 making custom creations. We love making things, so we have many different items to pick from & they make great gifts for anyone. We make cutting boards, turned items: pens, pencils, ice cream scoops, vegetable peelers, bottle openers, pizza cutters, measuring cups & spoons, seam rippers, crochet hooks, & more. We also make several different crochet items: blankets, hats, scarves, amigurumi animals, & more. And we make vinyl designs: adheasive - perfect for any smooth surface & heat transfer - perfect for clothes or any fabric that an iron can be used on. We can also do screen printing & embroidery. There is just so much to choose from.
